I LOVE this one. The greens are lovely.
So far:
Also, I have begun something...
Unfortunately for my digits, which feel as though they are tatting with hemp, I am using #10 thread. But that is what the pattern calls for, right Wendy??
On the plus side, I am over half way done with the first round and there are only three rows... So, hopefully, my fingers will not become too raw!
The green is lovely...I think my favorite of those you have tatted thus far! I have pulled the book off the shelf and loaded thread to play with that pattern, such a pretty little design. Oh, and the white of your something is so crisp and elegant...love the look of it!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Julie!
DeleteI think my favourite is the middle one in the bottom row - I love those colours!
ReplyDeleteAre you tatting a 3-D project with the size 10? - or is it just all folded up?
Maureen, that is my favourite as well and it is the sample that Liyarra sent me. They do not sell it anymore!
DeleteNo, not a 3-D. Just scrunched up to hide the pattern!
Fox ; )
Look at all those lovely colors! I really think I need to choose a small motif for trying out all my threads, and I don't want to be a copy cat. Could it be that Mary Konior is calling out to me? Looking forward to seeing what you tat next!
ReplyDeleteBe a copy cat! I copy shamelessly when I see something I like! T’is a tatter’s right, don’cha know!
DeleteAll the colors in all those motifs are so awesome!!! And you have done a wonderful job tatting them all!! :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your new project!! :)
Oh my, I just adore your green creation. I also like the purple and blue combo ones. Do you by chance have one with all three of those colours.
ReplyDeleteNice job with the pattern looks like your a pro at it now. ;)
Your white something is intriguing can't wait to see how it develops!
To my knowledge, there is not a thread with the three colours. Would be pretty though!
DeleteLove the green too. From all, I prefer the dark colours with better contrast in colours. Thats just me.
ReplyDeleteSize 10? Do not always do what you are told or suppose to.
I can't believe it. I think we are tatting the same pattern.
Really?? I am using #10 because I need the size to be right! Also, I am wondering how to end the thing... mirror image?
DeleteI am using size 20. I think you need to come around after the split rings to end. It isn't shown in the diagram but you may figure it out if you study the photo of the finished item.

DeleteYes, I studied the photo. I figure 19 repeats till the split rings and then the 20 at the other end. What do you think?
Yes, I think that is right. I have 21 repeats though.
DeleteI think the green is my favorite of the colors you have chosen so far. I am curious about the something but don't have enough tatting experience to hazard a guess as to what it is...
ReplyDeleteThe motifs look so pretty in all the different colours, together. I tried size 10 the other night and I have to tell you that I don't get on with it at all. For some reason, I just can't get my rhythm going when using size 10, it's just too big!
ReplyDeleteOn my last large piece, although it called for size 10, I used size 20.
Never again! It is impossible to work with. But the size is correct....
DeleteI love the green and pink:) I just did a sample that Diane sent me and love this thread too. you should make a crazy patch doily you've got enough started.
ReplyDeleteI've started twice now and it was erroneous enough that I had to toss it. Third times' the charm. I hope.
ReplyDeleteOh, no! Good luck on third go-round!!!
DeleteOf all the motifs you've made, the top green one in this post is my favorite. Such beautiful colors!
ReplyDeleteHi, Mica, Yes, I like that one very much, but oddly, some of the others are growing on me,,, and I usually do not prefer the variegated threads much. Seems I am acquiring a taste for them! : ))
