...in Spring!
I love this! It is from Patterns and Tatting Designs, by Blomqvist and Persson. Seems as I have overcome my fear and loathing of this book - at last. Seems I am gloating a tiny bit as well...
#15 Silk Zwicky thread in centre from Krystle,
Pink #50 Altin Basak, #40 Lizbeth for the rest.
This gives an idea as to the size of the two patterns
I have tatted from that book:
Wow! This looks great! The colors balance out so beautifully. IF you want it to look perfectly perfect, blocking the chains with a quick steam (after pinning) would do the trick.
ReplyDeleteAre these two tatted beauties roughly 10 centimeters in diameter? (10.2 cm = 4 in.)
Well done!
Hi, Isdihara,
DeleteMore like 15 cm for the for the green and yellow one and 131/2 cm for this one.

p.s. Blocking sure works!
Wow! I like!

That looks really great!! :)
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGloat away! Love the color combination. The chains did not work out so well on this one: one of the eternally frustrating thing about tatting other people's patterns - you don't realize that the tension needs to be a little snugger until you are in the midst of the next element and the chains are buckling. If you were to do a retat, it might be fun to alter round 4 to really emphasize the swirl initiated by round two (pink): perhaps turn the rings on their side, and lengthen the chain by a couple of stitches. It it should look like bean sprouts.
ReplyDeleteBean sprouts it is! Check out the next post! Thanks for your helpful comments.

Great colours and great tatting
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I like the way the colours make it look so modern.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love the Blomqvist book - the patterns are stunning.
Thanks for all the fantastic comments!
ReplyDeleteI was so inspired that I fled to the iron and blocked it a bit and have re-posted it to show you the improvement! Nothing like honest positive re-inforcement to make a tatter stretch those digits a wee bit further. I love Tat-land!
