I forgot how deadly mind-numbing tatting a hankie border can be. As with childbirth, I remember only the good bits, so I thought it would be great fun to tat this border. Fun, no - pretty, yes!
The shuttle is one of LaCossette’s new ones. It is the newer Aero that she is using and I really like it; it is very light and feels almost the same as the older ones, only for me even better.

The hanky border is very pretty!
ReplyDeleteLOL. I am sure, this hankie worths the "boredom". It turns to be lovely!
ReplyDeleteOh, LOL Fox! It is looking extremely pretty... but I can't believe you did not remember they bored you... I was sorting my bits of tatting the other day and found a few pieces of a size 80 edging I started once - it lived in my purse as a "odd moment ongoing project" until I lost the shuttle with the WIP bit - I replaced it and lost it again - I'm not sure I will ever get down to finishing it. A pity, because it *is* lovely... seeing I actually have about three sides done did encourage me! We will see! Anyway! So much for tatting edgings! At least you get to enjoy your gorgeous shuttle!
ReplyDeleteMonica,
DeleteUnfortunately for me, I am a “serially monogamous tatter,” happy to tat one thing at a time or never more than three. So, I will be VERY happy to be done with this!

The color of your thread for the hankie is so delicate and gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI have the JP books too- LOVE them!
your hanky edging will be very pretty when you are finished, but you know, repetitive patterns work well as things you carry with you to appointments and other places where you know you will have to sit and wait. you don't need to finish it all at once.
ReplyDeleteDo you know where we can see Julie's books and how much they are?
Ladytats,
DeleteI heard about her work on InTatters, but had never seen the books - they have been unavailable for a while.
I had also not seen anything but tatting shown on InTatters done by tatters following Jule’s patterns. I took a chance and ordered two of the three that are available, and I am not sorry I did! The patterns are terrific!

piękne!!!
ReplyDeleteTrying hard to keep up with your latest posts. Am I correct that you have been to Paris and back already? Neat!!
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about the 'improved Aero shuttle? Does it still use the same bobbins as the older ones?
This is a pretty pattern and will look great on the hanky.
Kathy,
DeleteSame bobbins, just purple!
