Taking a break from the Sunflower,
I enjoyed tatting this very much:
#11/100 Motif Challenge
Pretty, isn’t it? I still have some work to do on getting the lengths of thread to be consistent, but this is one time I enjoyed the tatting process even though I could clearly see my mistakes! I do like these vintage bare thread patterns of which there are quite a few in here:
Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI`ll have to have a look in this book for some bare thread tatting....It is one of the exchanges we are doing for the Fringe ``Knotty Tatters`` theme this year!!!!

I get very frustrated by bare thread patterns. I really want all my threads to be the same length, and I'm terrible at that! I do like the colors you're using, and I am thinking of pulling that book off the shelf and looking through it again... all because of you! ; )
ReplyDeletebeautiful tatting , I don't no this book?
ReplyDeleteHi Fox,
ReplyDeleteGorgeous and the thread is beautiful,
Well done on trying an old pattern
Margaret

Oh! I love how awesome that looks!!! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks good. I bought that book a long time ago, can't remember if I have tatted anything out of it though.
ReplyDeletebeautiful! bare thread tatting-- how awesome is that? love the colors!
ReplyDeleteI love the way the bare threads make the piece very light and airy. Am thinking perhaps I should try bare threads and clunies for a 25-motif challenge. Once I've finished what I'm doing. Thanks for inspiration!
ReplyDeleteLove the bright colours.
ReplyDeleteI have not been very successful with bare-thread tatting. One of the butterflies in the book that I am working on now has bare thread. I think I will be spending a lot of time there when I reach that pattern.
Realy nice colormix, the cute in the middle! Never tried bare thread tatting! Is it possible to hold a gauge as for even picots between the rings, to messure the bare thread? Ot as I saw at sombodies (??) fingers, drawn 2 dots for the length on your indexfinger! (Please let the ink dry before starting to tat ;-)
ReplyDeleteVery nice! This is a new-to-me book. (so many of them are...sigh)
