Nobody Noticed!
.....and it was a beaut!
I really messed up on the Posy pattern and couldn't figure out where the problem was. Blame it on the splitting thread at the end. Obviously, I can't multi-task with an end-join plus faulty thread!
At any rate, I tatted a new one and you can definitely see the difference:
Some progress on the other Konior piece:
By the way, I noticed that the quality of the green #40 Lizbeth is much superior to the magenta.
It is obviously due to the dyeing process of the magenta that makes it so awful. I seem to recall that
the purple threads with the red base are a lot worse than the ones with the blue.
Also, I remember navy being particularly bad - which makes no sense in light of what I just wrote!

Confounding Curves
I had to use the scissors twice on the next bit as the curves
were not co-operating well.
It looks wonky but I think will
lie flat when done:
I also finished this one - one of my faves...
Mary Konior's Posie:
I think you ll believe a exaggerate when complaining about Lizbeth,
but honestly, I have SO MUCH trouble with it:
This happened at the last join of a row - of course it did...
Splitting terribly in #40.
Maybe #20 is better and I think most tatters prefer that one. Or #80.
Perhaps I should be using another size. I never learn.
Grrrr.
Someone has been having a lovely lie-in...

Buttons Bonanza
I seem to have been busy with "fiddly" tatting that I generally do not enjoy,
and I seem to be having a very good time nonetheless:
There were two more, but they are the "magic" ones,
now residing with the Toronto Grands.
Then, a small Jon Yusoff pattern:
Then, I caved and tried Diane's Ice Drop:
The beautiful wee button is from Ninetta and is Venetian glass.
She sent it to me a few years ago and I've been saving it. :)

Disdain For Da Buttons
He couldn't care less:
I, on the other hand, am enthralled:
I am running out of buttons, but had a Cabone ring and Jon Yusoff's book, Tatting With Rings. Being hasty, I just glanced at the book and figured out what to do - amazing! - and with a few errors, I managed the ring, improvising as I tatted.
Love it, so I'm going to have to sit down with the istructions and some elusive patience.

Practice While Waiting For Thread
I ordered two balls of#40 Lizbeth. Yes indeed. New thread. In the meantime, I had some #40 left from the winter projects:
front
back
It's a small one -only about 2"; Karey Solomon's pattern and fun to tat.
My tension is good, the picots smaller, and I enjoyed the experience of concentrating on a very small project, thus being able to be more of a perfectionist.
Working for months on a big pattern can wear be a bit tiresome and I think my technique suffers as a result. This was fun. :)

Idle Shuttles?
Can't have that! I'm not sure what I want to do now, but have ordered 2 new balls of thread - both in #40 Lizbeth. Two colours.
What should I tat with one ball, not two, of thread, I wonder. After a Renulek marathon-tat, the rest is quite a letdown.
I received some #20, sent to me by kind tatters, when I wanted to reacquaint myself with thicker-than-#80-thread. This is what happened. Now I am bored!

#20 Lizbeth
I saw these dot picots on Muskaan's blog...
The pattern is on Georgia's site. Cute, eh?
