I have run out of the Lizbeth #40, so have picked out another thread for the final round. Wonder what tatters will think of it...not much choice is my excuse!
It is very pretty. If your final color choice ends up not working, you could always just leave it like this. But I'm sure the new color will be lovely, whatever it is.
Question: What do you fellow tatters "do" with your lace? I love making lace, but doilies and motifs aren't very useful in my life. I can frame them, give them away, sometimes make jewelry from them, etc. Put them in a notebook in plastic sleeves with pictures and notes... :)
Well, that is the million dollar question, isn’t it? I don’t know whqt others do; i give a lot away - most of it in fact. I don’t care what others do with it either! But I would fill a cupboard if I kept it all.
I get books made of tat-ology, so I have a complete record of what I have done since I began (blog2book) but I have very few pieces left.
For me, it is the process I love. it is an art form and there is no practical use for any of it, (excepting jewellery, for some) in my opinion! Fox : )
I like to use my tatting in CQing, and add decorative elements to pillows, too. I've also made jewelery. One can make table placemats, add edgings to napkins, and use tatting in the many ways that crocheting is used. There are tatted tablecloths, curtains, small motives for baby clothes, hair accessories, tatted purses, hats, tatted decorative covers for hangers, tatted sachets, scarves....one is limited only by one's imagination......
Hi Fox I go with Miranda and Wendy, you could use the pale blue that's in the middle or leave it as it is, Looks a lovely pattern, you might have unpicked a few times but it's worked up nicely in the end. Love to Gian Margaret
I'll be interested to see the final round because it looks complete to me. I know you're good at colour combinations, so I look forward to seeing what you choose.
Un-tatting! Oh, how I dislike this word and the having to do it! Again, you are to be admired for your perseverance. And those blues are just great. Really curious to see what colour you have chosen for the final round.
Commiserations on the un-tatting - one of my least favourite pastimes, but the little doily is so pretty. I am sure whatever you have chosen for the last round will be perfect too. Good luck!
Oh, very nice. I wonder what color you have chosen.
ReplyDeleteIt's so awesome already!!! :)
ReplyDeleteSue, you are so supportive, always. Thank you.
DeleteFox. : )
It really is nice and very delicate!

DeleteMiranda is right. Always options. But it could turn out even more beautiful, if that is possible. Love the colours.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Wendy. : )
