Pushing The Periphery to #12

Here we are... Row 11 ALMOST done. I just could not get to that final bit last night - just could not face it! Oh, this is turning into to be a real jaw-clencher!

So sorry - all I do is complain, so one would think I would just move on to something new... but I can’t! I must see this through to the bitter end! Aghhghhhhh...

The thread is diminishing at quite a rate, but I have enough of both colours to finish. At least I think I do. I am NOT purchasing new thread for this.

Also, it is very big - substantial and heavy. When I pick it up I am amazed that this is tatting!

  3. Hey, Gian! I've got a mouse just like that, although my mom thinks it looks more like a fish, especially after I chewed the tail off. Of course, I don't let it stop me from chewing on the tatting too!

My mom thinks your mom's doily looks great!

  6. Hi,
I just finished mine yesterday morning. It measures 60cm. As you said its heavy! I used size 20 thread- 4 1/2 balls of main colour and one full ball of the second colour.I am glad its finished. Do keep going and finish it. Its worth it. Have a good christmas.
    Cheers,
    Jen

  7. Fox - how do you eat an elephant, after all? - I think you are approaching this with the wrong point of view - it is the ultimate example of Process Tatting.Enjoy the time you spend with it, and I bet you'll miss it when it's finished. It's beautiful.
