Well, it seems to be working better than all the last attempts. I suppose using the correct sized thread is a help.
I'm not sure if you can see the bit of curve in the photo, but this is the best shot I have of it as an of last evening.
Taking a bit of a break from tatting the Corona, I pick it up once a day to tat a few stitches in order to eventually complete the edges around the small motifs. I have only two left to do.
So, when Frivole asked if I wanted to tat the Jan Stawasz cap along with her, I began working on my little cousin's hat. We are both using #10 thread, which is what is required in the pattern.

I thought maybe it was an optical illusion, but I do see cupping!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are off to a good start!! :)
ReplyDeleteI know you will get that doily finished!! :)
I is surprising that the thread size is what is making the cupping, I find this fascinating, very beautiful too!
ReplyDeleteWow, you're flying along (as usual!) :-)
ReplyDeleteMine is still very flat but I've only just completed the third round and I see you're on the fourth already.
Oh yay; I'm glad the cap is cupping!
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought it was a doily, but now I understand that you're making a cap :) Looking good so far!
ReplyDeleteOh I do see the cupping, Such a great tatter, your work always amazes me. I would love to tat along, I have the thread but not the time, must finish a project or two first.
ReplyDeleteI just hope it cups enough!
ReplyDeleteYes I can see a bit of a cup, looking better this time, see using the correct thread makes the difference
ReplyDeleteLove to Mr G
