It is not made with a tiny crochet hook. No. It might just be the worst when cleaning one of those handheld mixing thingys and not realizing that it is still plugged in!
While staring in horror at what I had done, whilst racing for ice and hydrogen peroxide, my first thought was, "How will I tat if I've amputated my first digit." No wonder people think tatters are bonkers!
The damage wasn't as bad as I initially thought. I shall not dwell on the gory bits, but tell you I am better today, and managed to finish the first of these last night, in spite of the unwieldy bandage.
Yikes! Glad to hear you still have 10 digits!
ReplyDeletecute sock!
Wow - it was scary reading this! Glad you're on the mend!
ReplyDeleteYikes! I often wonder what I'd do in retirement if I lost the use of either my hands or my eyes! Glad it's not as bad as it could have been. Love the sock :)
ReplyDeleteOh no Fox, I am sorry to hear that! I hope it will heal quickly. Love the socks, no sign of unwieldy bandage in such a delicate edging.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're OK!!! I'm with you - these are the kind of thoughts I have with just a paper cut - "Dang! This is really going to slow down my knitting/tatting!"
ReplyDeleteMind the digits!!!
:) Ann
PS Mighty cute socks there!
Oh, Fox! What a fright! Just last week I was fighting with getting the prongs into my handheld mixer. I finally got them in and THEN noticed it was still plugged in. I am so very glad I hadn't accidentally turned the darned thing on whilst wrestling with getting the beaters in!
ReplyDeleteI hope you fully mend! And quickly! Did you do the cute pink edging WITH beads DURING recovery? ? ?
Willow, of course I did! Not easy tatting with an I mobilized finger! : ))
DeleteThanks, Tatters. I too often am so thankful for good vision and ten working fingers. Whatever would I do without these? Take good care all, and take nothing for granted... and Bob's your uncle. : )
ReplyDeleteThe darker pink looks like little flowers so cute. No your not crazy at all, The same thing goes through my head, You know that is why we blog to each other I think the physiology term is enabling each other dilutions about tatting :) and how important it is, and it is!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely. I totally agree. : )
DeleteI am so glad you were not licking that handheld mixer! Be careful!
ReplyDeleteTally! What a gruesome thought! I had the same one when I made sure the blender was unplugged before I licked the whipped cream tonight. You are funny! : ))
ReplyDeletePrayers that you will be protected from now on from your tatting tools!! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful edging!!! :)
Thank you, GK. : )
