Mending and the Mail
Today the bandage came off! Wow. It was certainly difficult to tat for the past few days. Ah, how we tatters bravely struggle!
However, I did manage another pair of socks for Miss Hayley, whom I won't meet now till next week - enough time to finish the last pair, as they came in a set of three.
A big thank you to Ninetta, who surprised me with a wonderful package.
The pink pig is for The Boss, who adores pink and no doubt loves pigs too!
Lovely strip of linen, stitched along the side by Ninetta in blue, to match the DMC thread so that I might add a border. The shells, beads and little art piece are from Nanetta's travels, and of course there is her beautifully tatted wreath. What a fun gift to receive out of the blue! Lucky me. : )
Front and Back of Venetian Buttons. I love these buttons!

The Deepest Cut
It is not made with a tiny crochet hook. No. It might just be the worst when cleaning one of those handheld mixing thingys and not realizing that it is still plugged in!
While staring in horror at what I had done, whilst racing for ice and hydrogen peroxide, my first thought was, "How will I tat if I've amputated my first digit." No wonder people think tatters are bonkers!
The damage wasn't as bad as I initially thought. I shall not dwell on the gory bits, but tell you I am better today, and managed to finish the first of these last night, in spite of the unwieldy bandage.

Back To It
Can you see those tiny, little red beads?
They are so small I have to use a .4 hook, and I am very fearful of those.
Some of you may remember a number of very unfortunate painful encounters ...
Very slow going, especially with the beads, however, the design is marvellous.
This row is really brilliant. Jan Stawasz certainly knew his stuff!
Knowing about reverse tatting has really made this pattern a lot easier than
if I had been flipping back and forth - especially as it is now over a foot in diameter.
This one is for my daughter-in-law, who has always appreciated my tatting a lot.
The surprise is that my daughter, who is very supportive, but not - well you know -
hooked, so to speak, has requested one that she will then frame!
I am delighted.
