Oval Doily in Ecru
Designed by
Measures 81/2 inches by 71/2 inches.
Fun easy and fast pattern. Very repetitious.
A pleasant rest from my foiled Russian misadventure!
There are many Split Chains in this pattern and I realize I am no longer nervous about tackling them. There was a time when the thought of an attempt would have strike terror...
Your doily is wonderful!!! :) I'm glad you got to tat something enjoyable!!! :)
ReplyDeleteIt has turned out so beautifully ! Crochet effect in tatting, with such a great thread colorway !
ReplyDeleteYour doily is beautiful and looks lovely well done

I like the oval shape. Yes, sometimes it's good to tat something straightforward!
ReplyDeleteWow this one came out nice and some how I missed this post too! Thanks for the information on the collar. I didn't see he previous post and it was right under that one. I some how imagined it being a peter pan collar and so I had a blouse like than and just measured it to 65 rings. She in her picture doesn't look like a large woman so I will add some to mine and good thing I am not close to the other end yet so I will add more when I get down there, that should work out fine I just need to think or ask her, and hope it goes well with the language problem and all! :) I am using size 20 thread too. Thanks for your help!
ReplyDeleteLovely piece of tatting. It looked like a round doily at first glance but I can then see the oval shape from the centre.
ReplyDeleteYes, split chains are not intimidating now. I always look for where I can use whenever I want to start on something new, juat to avoid cutting after rows.
So lovely! My split chains aren't also clean as yours. I must train!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tatters. Lovely words. : )
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous- such beautiful colors. I used to be afraid of split chains but I love them now.
ReplyDelete(Put you in my Feedly again- life is good!!!)
Lovely pattern, looks great!
ReplyDeleteSo lovely Fox, great split chains, it's hard to find them! Hugs.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I actually do better with split chains than split rings, so maybe I should give this one a try. ;-)
ReplyDeleteVery nice! The repetitive patterns look so pretty and lacy, but I'm with you--I want more variety in the rows.
