Hi there, readers of tat-ology,
You have been so good to me this year - lots of lovely gifts, warm wishes and gestures of generosity. Lots of encouragement, and enthusiastic comments. Tons of humour. The tatting community is something else. Would that this type of goodwill existed everywhere on our deeply troubled planet.
This line of thinking occurred to me as I was straightening out my bead box to find a home for the fabulous new beads that arrived from Fire Mountain Gems and Beads; the gift certificate from Miranda had burned a hole in my pocket! I went bead shopping! Thank you Miranda. I am excited with my new stock.
I notice my taste in beads has changes significantly in the 21/2 years that I have been tatting. So, as I will never use all that is in my stash, I decided I would give the ones I could tear myself away from to one of you. A Bead-Away!
As I started to weed out the ones I would give away, I noticed how difficult it was to part with the ones I would never use again. I am such an old crow. Everything that sparkles has MY name on it!
However, with formidable resolve that I dredged up from who knows where, I dug into the stash and here you can see what I have come up with for a giveaway.
I am adding a Teri Dusenbury's pattern book of hearts, as heart motifs always cry out for beads and then even more beads!
Send me your comments, those of you who desire my offering, and I will consult the Random Number Generator on Monday October 24th, for a winner.
If I have never heard of you, I shall not include your name in this draw, as it is for those who read, comment, and lurk around tat-ology! It is YOU to whom I owe many thanks!
Fox : )
That's a wonderful giveaway, Fox! I'm sure someone will love the goodies, but please don't include me in the draw. I already have more beads than I can use in my lifetime, and I already own the book. Good luck to all who enter!
ReplyDeleteHi Fox,
ReplyDeleteI'm not usually lucky at draws but I'll join in please. Love the look of your new delica beads. I'm a big fan too since I discovered how great they are, not only for tatting, but for bead weaving also.
Thanks for the giveaway!

ReplyDeleteDid you know that "bonsoir" means "good evening"? ; )
Beads, beads!!!! I need more beads!! Please count me in!!
ReplyDeleteKelly
How lovely :o) That is so sweet of you to do a "Bead-Away". Can I be included?
ReplyDeleteYou are right about the tatting community... I may be baby powder fresh to it, but I can really tell its a tight knit (I was going to say tight tat but that sounds kind of strange lol) community :o) MAYBE we could say it's a "tightly tatted" community.... ehh still needs work
Wow! What a sparkley, pay-it-forward style giveaway! Please don't include me in the draw, as I already own the book and have a healthy, unused stash of beads. Good luck to all who enter!
ReplyDeleteI don't need to be included in the draw as I don't use beads that often, but I couldn't resist commenting that you've done your share of kindness this year, Fox, as well!! I agree - if there were more tatters in the world, it'd be a kinder, more gentle place!
ReplyDeleteWhat a generous gesture! Please include me in your drawing. How can I give up on the beads and the book? I don't have that book but love Teri's patterns.

Oh how I understand how difficult it is to part with stash...especially beads. Yours are lovely and the tatting hearts book looks very interesting. I love your blog and all you tat however I should not be included in the drawing as I have beads and so far have not been able to tat anything even though I am trying to learn. Happy Tatting...
ReplyDeleteI also am an old crow as I love anything that sparkles!! These beads are just lovely and I would love to be part of your giveaway!
ReplyDeleteÓ de sok szép gyöngy! öröm lehet vele dolgozni!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so nice to be giving away those beautiful beads and Teri's book. Who wouldn't want to be part of such a wonderful "give-a-way"! Please, please include me in the drawing.
ReplyDeleteOh dear Fox, what a wonderful giveaway ! Don't include me in the give away, I have a ton of beads, though I don't have the book in particular, I have a lot of Terrie's patterns and I would be happy for someone else to win it :) I think you are such a generous person with all your sharing and your wonderful giving, and here you go with a very generous package :) I can't wait to see who is the lucky winner :D and everyone is right, this is an incredible community, I love it here :)
ReplyDeleteI'm in awe of your bead stash...most beautiful and sparkly :-) I have the book...but could I be included for the beads? I have silver and crystal that I want to use for snowflakes, and some black ones I bought today to make owl eyes (that cute pattern Nancy w/ Be-stitched posted yesterday)...and a bag of yucky dollar store beads (never the same size somehow) that I gave up on, some pretty colored beads would make including them in my tatting so much fun!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a wonderful give-away! I always love reading your blog. Thank you for sharing all that gorgous tatting!
ReplyDeleteFox, as usual, you make me laugh... even doing a bead-away! LOL I admire your courage... tearing yourself away from the stash you've kept all this time. I should do something about some of the hoardings I have too... Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteFox you're a lovely lady - your tatting has inspired me and I love seeing your name appear in google reader telling me you've posted.
ReplyDeleteLove, love beads so please include me in this generous give-away, I don't have Teri's book either so to win would be a real treat!
ReplyDeleteOh, please count the old git in too. I love delicas too but I think (if I remember rightly) you have to be careful as they don't wash!! They're wonderful on earrings or anything that isn't put into the washing!!!
ReplyDeleteI have to put my name in. I love beads in tatting and can't believe you can part with those.

my google account doesn't seem to work
I always read your blog. What a great giveaway! I, too, love beads and anything that sparkles!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,

Hi Fox!
ReplyDeleteI agree, you are an important part of the internet tatting community generosity!
I do have the same problem as you with bead stash - I seem to like different things in the store than when I have thread in my hands, LOL! So even though I can't argue that I *need* more beads...
I would love to be in this draw anyway!
I don't have the book but love several of the patterns in it, so that makes it extra enticing!
I, too, am distracted by shiny objects. Please include me in your drawing. (I also like making the odds look longer for everyone else)
ReplyDeleteI may not comment much but I read every single post. I found your blog last year when I was first learning to needle tat (someday I will learn to use the shuttle) and love to see what you create.
ReplyDeleteBeads I just love beads! :)
ReplyDeleteI love beads and your blog. I too want to participate in the raffle. ))
ReplyDeleteI've been in the bead mood myself recently. Any suggestions for picking beads that you drop on the floor when you are 8 months pregnant :)
ReplyDeleteHey, Tattin'Kat,
ReplyDeleteI have a great suggestion! Just put some double-sided tape on that belly of yours and you will have no dropped beads!
: ))
Fox
You are always so generous Fox! I've only used beads when I've made earrings :)
ReplyDeleteI'm none too memorable, but I'm hoping you know that I've followed and commented before. :-) My bead stash is pathetic, but quickly growing and I just can't help but throw my name into the hat for the beauties that you've posted!!! :-) Of course, another book of patterns to play with would be wonderful too! (Another skimpy but growing collection, LOL).
ReplyDeleteI'm rambling, aren't I? Would that I could tat as well as I ramble! LOL. :-)
Thank you for hosting such a generous, wonderful giveaway!!! :-) (If I win, I suggest leaving off the return address... I've been lucky with beads and have yet to stab myself with the size 14 or 15 crochet hooks and I'd hate for me be cussing like a sailor and wanting to track you down if it happens with these beauties! LOL). ;-)

I keep saying that I am going to learn to use beads in my tatting, but I really haven't done it yet. I think the hearts might be the perfect thing to try it on . . . Next tatting project? We shall see!
ReplyDeleteYour Royal Awesomeness,
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful gesture you are bestowing upon all your faithful and loyal subjects of Tat-ology.
I come humbly before your graces, undeservedly happy for a chance to win..... yummy beads, and a Teri Dusenbury book?! oh me, oh my.. I fear I shall faint if my number is called.

I don’t need to be in the draw; just wanted to say “hi” and let you know I’m still lurking. Made it through torturous, non-anesthetic operations yesterday (yes, plural) Giving me lidocane is like poring water on a wound Not much pain killing for an hour and a half on that table while my neck was probed and needles for the catheter...and fistula was chased up my right arm with the same amount of medieval torture. I would have never gone to that particular doctor if I’d known he didn’t uses total sedation for such procedures. I’ll be ok but I feel as though some one took a baseball bat and beat my collar bone and upper right arm...no way can I tat for a few days. Dialysis on Monday (first time) THEY told me I might pass out...just gets better and better. Let’s see, why did I agree to do this? Oh yes, to be with my friends and daughters...sigh....I DO love you all~

Oh, Bev! How dreadful for you! I will email ... ♥ Fox
