Cluny Caper

I panicked.  Thought I had forgotten everything elisadusud had taught me.  This is, of course, Elisa's lovely design:

 #2 Motif Challenge

It's those SPLIT CHAINS - they get you every time.  I finally know how to do the pesky stitches, but I'm still uncomfortable with the technique.  Getting more cosy with it -  luckily - because with these patterns you have to tat a lot of them.

The regular thread is good, old, reliable Cebelia, and the fancy-dancy stuff is a metallic from Suneeti.  Thanks, S.  I am finally using some of the samples and though the thread is ornery at times, as in when rings are pulled tight, it is very effective in certain designs.

*Thanks for the comment, yavamoni!  Not split rings - split chains!

Clunies feliz!
    Abrazos,
    Fox:)

  5. Very nice, Fox! Clunies still elude me, though I cheat and do stumpwork instead.

  8. You amaze me! Your Clunies get better every time I see them, and I think it's wonderful that you decided to tat this motif in blue!

  10. You did clunies with metallic thread? I think there are medications for that!

Seriously, it's beautifully done, with wonderful colors.

  11. Clunies are effectively, a very fancy sort of split ring - at least, that's how I think of them, in an attempt to cut them down to size!
Yours are gorgeous, I love the colours.

  13. I can't see split rings - am I being thick, or is that what the caper is about?

Your clunies are looking great. It does not look like you forgot anything! Are they really done with metallic thread? I want to get back to doing some too, and I was just thinking about some metallic as well...

  14. Thank you, creativasuculencia! I fixed that error. It should read split chains, not rings!
