Slowly getting there...
As for keeping it clean, I am trying the baggie approach and it is all right. Not as cumbersome as I had originally thought it would be. And it does keep the peanut butter at bay!The little flowered tin - are you out there Crazy Mom?
What about you, Jane? Are you reading this? I have to thank you for this:
It cost about $2.50 on eBay for approximately 35 of them. Ah, Internet shopping and tatting. See, it does not have to cost a fortune to be so rewarding!
Back to the border...
That border is so elegant! I love it! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm here and watching!!!! The coilless pins are just SO useful. Love the little tin too. I gave up on that pattern you're using for the hanky edging - think it was cause I didn't like the colours I chose!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe have a nice rainy day for a day of tatting!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks great.
ReplyDeleteI need to get some of those safety pins--what are they called? I've only found the ones with the coil at the end.
Your edging is looking wonderful! I've been collecting tins to decorate... now I have to decorate them. I really must look for some of those pins. You are quite the enabler, you know!
ReplyDeletelove how you've blinged out the tin - great idea!
ReplyDeleteA standing ovation for your cleverness and frugality, Fox!
ReplyDeleteAs much as I like the idea of adding bling to shuttles, decoupaging tins sounds like even more fun.
And now I must go look online for coil-less pins. *enable.enable*
Not too much further to go and your beautiful border will be complete!
ReplyDeletequerida Fox, te esta quedando hermosa la puntilla, ya casi esta lista y es muy gratificante ver el resultado. Felicidades y Animo
ReplyDeleteBrilliant idea to keep white clean. Your tatted border is exquisite. I love your new banner with the little tatting kitty.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Everyone! I am working hard to finish this before my sis finishes my quilt! (Also white) Poor Sis - quilts are so much more more demanding than tatted borders!!!
ReplyDeleteTattin'Kat, I just looked up 'coil-less safety pins' on eBay and found lots...
Kelly, It sure beats SNOW!

I love the tin . . . I feel another project stirring. I have also looked for those coil-less pins with no luck - I'll have to watch eBay. As always, your work looks great.
ReplyDeleteJohn, Very astute - how did you know I am a runner!
ReplyDeleteKjellaug, Food stores! That is so cool! We have very little in the way of sewing supplies in those stores. Luckily I have enough little pins for now. I bought these "just in case!"

Another inexpensive source for coiless pins in the US is:
ReplyDelete3Stitches.com. Fast ship, friendly lady; and the pins come in various sizes and finishes (gold or silver) and you get a bunch for what you pay. She also has the EZ Bobs for .25 each. 3 sizes!
Love the tin...my daughter BB collects little boxes and tins. Very selectively, so she doesn’t end up with too many. LOL
hugs, Bev
Bev, Good to know. Thanks for the info.

I want to tat edging on the 'Baptismal Napkins' that we present to the parents when their babies are Baptized. ReplyDeleteHi, Maggie,
ReplyDeleteThis is Iris Nieback's, "Gardenia" border from her Fantasia Book - the first one. Go to Zigzag Corner Tatting Supplies or Handy hands. It is a wonderful tatting book. : ) Fox
