In The Interim

Just finishing the challenge with umintsuru (Have a look at her progress, as her tatting is wonderful!) and had to take a break, so tatted Sally's snowflake again. Such a delightful pattern.

Umintsuru has given some background to our challenge, here. Thanks! I had forgotten about this; we both had tatted the easier variation of Iris Niebach’s Annalisa last year.

  6. I am not particularly fond of this colour that you used but the silver beads really made a difference. Lovely tatting.

    1. Interesting comment, Jon, in that I would not have chosen this colour: the thread was a generous gift. I played around with the beads till I found a combination I liked, and I too liked the silver with this shade! It is certainly good to stretch beyond one’s colour comfort level. I now am fonder of that colour. : )

  7. This is a wonderful use of bugle beads! Sally expained that she uses a beading needle to get the bugle beads on the thread. I assume you also use this method? I want to try it. Your tatting continues to amaze me! Such a variety of patterns and threads, especially the very 'fine' threads!
And it's amusing and inspiring to read about your frustration, discouragement, then triumph over whatever obstacle you encounter!

    1. Thanks, kathy. I use one of those blue dental thingys for adding the beads to the thread. Very easy. I don’t like beading needles - threw them out! : ))
