Just finishing the challenge with
umintsuru (Have a look at her progress, as her tatting is wonderful!) and had to take a break, so tatted
Sally's snowflake again. Such a delightful pattern.
Umintsuru has given some
background to our challenge, here. Thanks! I had forgotten about this; we both had tatted the easier variation of Iris Niebach’s Annalisa last year.

Awesome snowflake!!! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is prettier than those we are expecting any time now. :)
Love that colour. Zing a ding ding.
ReplyDeletevery nice love this pattern and how the beads are used
ReplyDeleteHi Fox,

Pretty snowflake. Love the color you did it in. I'm going to have to go over and get this pattern.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, I have some pale lilac bugle beads waiting in the wings to use for this snowflake but I love your compination.
ReplyDeleteI am not particularly fond of this colour that you used but the silver beads really made a difference. Lovely tatting.
ReplyDeleteInteresting comment, Jon, in that I would not have chosen this colour: the thread was a generous gift. I played around with the beads till I found a combination I liked, and I too liked the silver with this shade! It is certainly good to stretch beyond one’s colour comfort level. I now am fonder of that colour. : )
DeleteThis is a wonderful use of bugle beads! Sally expained that she uses a beading needle to get the bugle beads on the thread. I assume you also use this method? I want to try it. Your tatting continues to amaze me! Such a variety of patterns and threads, especially the very 'fine' threads!
ReplyDeleteAnd it's amusing and inspiring to read about your frustration, discouragement, then triumph over whatever obstacle you encounter!
Thanks, kathy. I use one of those blue dental thingys for adding the beads to the thread. Very easy. I don’t like beading needles - threw them out! : ))
DeleteThank you for the comments, Tatters. This was such a fun tat.
