I am pretty proud of this. Mind you, it does look like a whole bunch of other patterns I have seen in the past two years! Makes me realize how very difficult it is to come up with a winner like 'Heart's Desire' or some of Mary Konior's or Iris Neibach's lovely creations. I am in awe of some of the talent out there in Tat-land.
Speaking of Mary Konior; to see her design in a wonderful tatting presentation, visit Umi & Tsuru's blog today. She has done something very special with an already beautiful and original design by MK.
That is just beautiful! I am in a struggle too, of creating a pattern or two!
ReplyDeleteAny suggestion on how to start and other tips from your experience?
Hi, Karrieann, I am taking Sharon's Design Course - better put it in the post - and it is wonderful as far as learning the rules.
ReplyDeleteFox : )
Congratulations, Fox, on your 1st design! Yay! I like it very much!
ReplyDeleteYour first design is great! I took the course last year, but I just didn't have the time to devote to designing. I agree with you - those that can design beautiful patterns really put more work into it than anyone realizes.
ReplyDeleteLooks great!! Keep it up.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful design and I don't think I have seen one quite like it. It makes me think of elegance! :)
ReplyDeleteKeep up the awesome work!
I love it, Fox! You've done something I don't think I'll ever be able to do, and that's okay. Do we get to see it in different threads now?
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU!
ReplyDeleteI never would have done that without this blog and all of you!
♥Fox : )
Wow I am so pleased for you and you have done a wonderful job. Just love it!
ReplyDeleteThis looks really, really nice! Karen in OR
ReplyDeleteSee, I told you you could do it! I don't think I've seen a design like this. I find it both original and elegant, with a unique shape and nice use of decorative picots.
ReplyDeleteWell done, Fox.
ReplyDeleteSharon's design course have brought out a lot of tatting designers.
Does The Boss know this new development? She may be asking for special designs, specially for her, if she knew, :)
That's so peachy-keen!!
ReplyDeleteMe Like!!
Congrats, Ms Designer... Now you can start your own pattern books and become a tatting icon!
Congratulations Miss Foxy! Your design is beautiful. Happy tatting weekend to you...
ReplyDeleteI am blown away by the comments. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI like the shape! Very nice look. I think you did a great job on your first design.
ReplyDeleteyou have done very well for your first attempt, that means you can do it. and keep on doing it. wonderful.
ReplyDeleteIt's perfect! Very similar to your original drawing too. I was just thinking earlier that I need to find the ONE and ONLY design I came up with in that class. I have designed others but that one was deliberate and the others were more or less by accident - something reminded me of something else, etc. Great job!
ReplyDeleteWhat I love about your first design is the shape of the motif. It is pretty yet elegant. Congrats Fox. I really like it!! Thanks for the shout out too.
ReplyDeleteThis pattern is awesome. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! You can be proud of it, really! :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks just the same as your drawing!! - that is quite amazing, to me - I know just enough about designing to understand the difficulties in things like stitch counts, and getting elements to curve and join - congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI think you should frame this first piece, and in the same beautiful frame, you must include the drawing.
very cute !I like it well ..
ReplyDeleteYou're a designer too, now : congratulation !
ancolie
Congratulations lovely design, Margaret
ReplyDeleteWow, congratulations!!!! I can't believe you are designing now!!! It is fun, isn't it? I love it and I might just ask you for permission to use it some day, if you don't mind of course :)))
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and as others have said it's very elegant! With a first design like this Fox you are bound for tatting designing glory.
ReplyDeleteYou have great balance in the elements - the varying sizes of rings, the densities with the more open center and 2 opposite sides having few picots and the outer elements and other 2 opposite sides with more picots. And you've created interest with good use of negative space, rounded square corners, and by not making all 4 corners the same.
GREAT JOB!
Sue Fuller
I am truly overwhelmed. When the designer of my favourite and most tatted pattern comments on my little motif design, it is very rewarding.
ReplyDeleteBut, when she also provides a critique in such glowing terms, I have no words - except to say, thank you so very much Sue Fuller. You have provided hours and hours of inspiration to me.
Fox : )
Gosh how did I miss this post????
ReplyDeleteWELL DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks great and very inviting. Are you taking it any further??
Job well done girl. Glad you are enjoying the course too. It is well worth the time and effort.
