My camera says it better today than I can...
** Please note that I originally credited "Gardenia" to Mary Konior.
With sincere apologies to Iris Niebach and a very red face,
I have corrected my bad editing.
I have been influenced lately by
Gina's tatting. Check
out her blog to see some
interesting posts about
vintage patterns.
The Priscilla book border is gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteMy, you've been very busy, Fox! It's all looking very good! And well done on the Mary Konior pattern!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on finally having success with that border. It does look elegant. You have been busy. I wish I could accomplish even close to that much! Love the kitty and lep picture.
ReplyDeleteTHIS IS VERY UNFAIR OF YOU, FOX!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI do not KNOW where to begin - SO MUCH LOVELY TATTING - I think my head is going to pop off, you've got so many ideas swirling in there!
The Mary Konior edging is SO pretty! Her designs are simple and elegant. Beautiful job with it!
The DMC edging is VERY SWEET in lilac and aqua. I love those little rings dripping off of the chains like tiny rose buds. WHAT GETS ME is that looking at the picture of the Plate in the book - I probably would have overlooked it (most likely writing it off as "too foofy"), and am now wondering how many REALLY nice patterns I have discounted. It looks great as a circular motif also!
The wonderful thing about vintage patterns - there are SO MANY of them available on the web. Enjoy your time-travel-tatting!
:) Ann
Wonderful borders!
ReplyDeleteThe ecru is very pretty! I've been watching Gina's progress also, and I've been tempted to join her in her venture. However, I have been distracted by that lovely Peacock Blues thread
ReplyDeleteLucky Maeve! I wonder if my granddaughters are ready for more lace-edged socks?
Both borders are lovely!! But I especially like the vintage one you are putting on Meave's Valentine socks! Something about the Josephine Knots that are just so appealing :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. I forgot to mention I like your new header. The Sea Dragons are fantastic the colors of thread and beads are great!!
ReplyDeleteA picture is worth a thousand words, they say! And yours say a lot!
ReplyDeleteThis is one I've been wanting to tat and it's in the line up. I'll get there. You've done it beautifully!
ReplyDeleteAll beautiful!! Love them both.
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I finish my current project I am going to start tatting the Mary Koniors. Her patterns never cease to amaze me.
ReplyDeleteThe josephine rings edging on Maeve's socks looks like tiny baubles, so cute.
Am in love with Mary Konior's Gardenia! Think you make everybody want to start on this edging right away. May I ask you: is this pattern somewhere free on the internet, or do I need to buy a book in which it is published?? By all means: I do want to respect copyrights!
ReplyDeletePrevious commentors have said it all, but I still am compelled to squee in glee at all the lovely tatting in this post. (Because, if I don't do something, my head may just pop off too!)
ReplyDeleteLove the Cat as always!!! That Mary Konior edging is just asking to be tat :)
ReplyDeleteThe socks look perfect as well. You always have just beautiful work.
The one you call Mary Coniors pattern,is my pattern. It is published in my first book and you can see it on my web page, linked on my blog.
ReplyDeleteIris Niebach
BIG BOO BOO and my biggest apologies to Iris Nieback! That is her design... NOT Mary Konior's!
ReplyDeleteSo very sorry, Iris!

Lovely tatting, you have been busy, great borders.
ReplyDeleteMargaret
Your designs are so beautiful! Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteAnother blunder! I am staying up way too late!
ReplyDelete** Please note that the Josephine Knot border comes from the Vintage DMC Book, NOT from a Priscilla book. I apologize for any confusion.

Tattingrid,
ReplyDeleteThe book with the pattern in it is
"tatting Fantasia" by Iris Niebach.
Her link is http://www.iristatting.com/
Here you can see all her stuff. The book is available at most tatting suppliers on-line, I think.
