I had begun with this pattern, but it is really just too much of a beaded bother, so I discarded the idea.

Sally, of pop-a-bobbin fame made me a handy bobbin-winding tool; I had lost mine. She included a small tatted motif... with a button! Thanks, Sally!

No More Mr Nice Guy

No more. Life's too short. I really do not like how this is turning out and now, after three attempts  to fix those long chains, it's not working. This is only the second pattern that I have completely given up on, the first bring Jane's beautiful African design a few years ago. 

In this case, I find I cannot control the tension of the chains and they ended up being different lengths; even a mere millimetre made too much of a difference. The sides looked too uneven. 

Sorry Umintsuru! This challenge was supposed to be fun -  it definitely is not for me! I am going to cut off the chain rows and see if I can save the centre.
