Fathead

BIG.
(It is cupping though!!!)

I have ordered #20 Cèbèlia in violet for the little one. I considered #30, but I think it will be too small.

  1. That is lovely! Shame about the size but maybe it could be used as a doily?

  2. I glad it is cupping and I noticed that Frivole's is not cupping up, aren't you both tatting the same thing? And did you ever mention why it is working now and it wasn't in the past?

    1. Yes, we are. I am tatting super tightly and I do not know if Frivole would do that.

Not sure, but am now using the thread JS called for and tatting tightly.

  4. I've sometimes wondered if JS's size 10 is the same size as what we would call size 10?? I guess so, if you're using the thread called for. I remember other cases where size 10 makes an awfully large item.

    1. Ah, good point, Jane. He sometimes used Aida thread. I have no idea what that is like...

  5. This seems to be a frustrating pattern, so maybe I'll avoid it!

  6. I have some Aida 10 which is what I had read Jan tatted with. It is slightly smaller than the Lizbeth 10. I am using is on the Big Doily. I do find that his patterns look best with tight chains. I also know they have many errors. Perhaps a rewrite is in order. I would love to do that cap but.....

  7. My one of these bowled as well Fox. Even a stretch and block didn't really help it that much.
Can't believe you tried it in 10 after using 80. LOL it must have felt like rope!

    1. It is supposed to curve; not really understanding your comment, Liyarra! The problem is the size...WAY too large. #20 is much smaller.
