... for Renulek's Tat-A-Long:
This is as far as she has gone - three rows. So, I will watch and am ready to begin the next round when it is posted. Thanks, Renulek!
But the colours? Yechy! However, I think I got the idea from JaneE's blog, where the combination intrigued me: here.

I am stash-busting. Seems that I have actually dwindled that box of thread to not too many choices and that includes the HDT; there are only about 5 skeins of the 'special' stuff left!
Determinedly, I will NOT order any more till I have reduced this lot to one half. Might have to give some away, trade some, give some to Gian to play with... he is always up for that.
Then, here is another of Karey Solomon's hearts:
This pattern is called Heartfelt and I cannot seem to find it on this blog, so I wonder if this is the first tile I have tatted it. I believe it must be.
I was using up the thread that I had on the shuttle after tatting the pumpkin (pattern by Mark Myers) I saw on Frivole's blog:
The colors in that Tat-a-long piece are beautiful! I would never have thought to put them together but it works really well!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Teresa!

I love all the colours you have in this blogpost Fox! I think the doily works quite well actually, I like it. I think you loose the yellow a bit but I like the purple and red together. And then I like both the heart (which I've never seen before) and the pumpkin in those gorgeous autumn colours.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Frivole! Purple, red and yellow remind me of custard...

I didn't know it was a tat along. Love the pattern and downloaded it, I'll have to join in. I do like the colour combinations.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing what you do with it, Jane!

I love all the colors you have shown us in today's blog post! I agree with Frivolé, I think the doily colors work quite well. Right now the yellow looks out of place, but if yellow is used in the next round, right next to that captivating purple, it could be quite striking.
ReplyDeleteI agree! The yellow shuttle is wound and willing! Thank you, Isdihara.
DeleteFox : ))
Wow, the difference using color makes is really amazing. Your colors are wonderful as is Renulek's plain white but oh so different! I didn't realize it was a tat-along either. (I'm lazy about translating)
ReplyDeleteThe KS heart is lovely too. Is the pattern for sale or available somewhere?
Hi Michelle,
DeleteThanks!
The pattern is from one of her booklets on her site store - Make Man Merrily, I think...
Fox : )
I have to admit, I would not have put those colors together, but I think they look great! The yellow breaks up the intensity of the red and purple. Having the chains in red really emphasizes all the different shapes in this doily. I think it's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteMe neither - but I am using up thread an lo and behold... : )) Thanks, Miranda...
DeleteThat tat-a-long doily is super fabulous!!! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful autumn heart and pumpkin!!! :)
Thanks, Sue!

Hi Fox
ReplyDeleteI love your doily its unusual colours to put together, but I think it works.
Lovely heart and beautiful colours and your pumpkin is beautiful,
Was he looking out of the window or just annoyed you wanted a picture of him?
Love to Gian
Hugs
Margaret
Thanks, Margaret!
DeleteYes, I thought his tail was a good peek into his personality - that little twist at the tip! Thanks for noticing!
Have a good weekend,
Fox : )
The colors on the doily are definaitely eye-catching. It seems to have its own harmony going on there. I like it. What a cute little apple. I have Mark's pattern saved in one of the many "early venture into tatting" binders. Perhaps it's time to go through some of those.
ReplyDeleteHi Imoshen!
DeleteI thought it pass as a pumpkin in the fall coloured thread - but I suppose it cannot escape it's apple lineage! Yes, it is a cute pattern and it was a pleasure looking through the Tatman's site.
Fox : )
I love those colours! - but thought you had already used up all your yellow on the hanky?
ReplyDeleteHave you seen the earlier tat-along on Renulek's blog? - it's stunning. She calls it the Honey Doily, and I have printed all 18 parts - planning to work on it over the summer, very slowly.
Hi there, Maureen,
DeleteGood memory! Yes, I finished all the Milford thread - but I have a bit of Lizbeth yellow - a lighter , more buttery colour left!
I read some of your older comments today on Renulek's blog and started hunting down the segments. Looks like a good tat - especially the row with the split rings. I had considered tatting this and might just have a go at it with some of the thread I am trying to use up as I think this would use a good bit of it.
What colours are you planning to use? Have you begun?
Fox : )
:) - when I translated the pages with the help of Google, the piece was called the "Honey Napkin" - and at once I decided to wait for the new Honey Drizzle thread. It should be available here before the end of this year, with a bit of luck, and I will buy a whole box of it because 18 rounds is going to take a lot of thread. The only decision I haven't yet made is the size of the thread I will use.
DeleteSo I haven't begun it yet. Just starting to get back into tatting, after a long break, and I'm working on Jon's Lace Mat, and bookmarks to put in the Christmas cards this year. Oh yes, and Karen Bickerton's Lizards too!
An entire box of thread? How big is the finished piece? Big as Lincoln Continental? Good grief - I am not planning on a whole box of thread - too insane -all in the same colour!
DeleteWish you had a blog... I would like to see your Lace Mat... WIll you post it on InTatters?
Just had a look at Honey Drizzle - LOVELY!
Fox : )
I too like the tat-a-long colors, it is very striking. I like the heart from Karey and your apple/pumpkin. will you be making more so you can have an apple/pumpkin pie?
ReplyDeleteanother tat-a-long, I will have to skip this, until I finish my christmas snowflakes and Umi&Tsuru's Tat-a-long.
I will have to take a look at Renulek's site.
I have to go and collect the 18 rounds of the older Honey Napkin pattern - it is a beauty! - and translate them, I'm afraid. I am absolutely hooked on that pattern. BIG tatting project though...
DeleteThis current one is great fun - have a look and be tempted! Her blog is very interesting.
Fox ; ))
DeleteFox:))
I actually like the colours of your tat-along. :) And your pumpkin is adorable!
ReplyDeleteI really love the colors! And the pumpkin is so appropriate for now. You make beautiful things.
ReplyDeleteI still can't believe how much tatting you do! I think those doily colors are wonderful! Kind of has that Folk Art, European look! Have you seen the next round? Looks like a LOT of work!
ReplyDeleteThis is certainly a different 'view' of Gian! I missed mentioning how spectacular he looked in that profile view recently!
Your pumpkin is SO perfect. I did a quick 'variation' of it and posted it on my blog yesterday. That post kept me busy so I was 'late' commenting here!
Just had another look at your Star motif (Rachel Jackson.) I am rather envious - I can't seem to get the hang of that technique and I really like it - especially in the thread you used there. really pretty.
DeleteI actually prefer the pumpkin pattern WITH picots - usually I like the cleaner look, but I think that removing them in this case weakens the design - my uncalled for opinion! And Bob's your uncle! Great thread though and cute as a pendant.
Fox : )
Than you for the wonderful comments today!
ReplyDeleteI am off to tat the next part of Renulek's tat-a long.... Hmmmmm.
