Centering

I have become smitten with centres.  There is something I must be figuring out,  but whether it has something to do with tatting or is just my own curious life learning style, I cannot be sure.  Whatever; I cannot stop looking at the centres of everything.  I am captivated!

BTW - have I told you how much I like the dahlia in your new header? I like the tatting too, of course...

  3. Well....in tatting the centers are usually the beginning so maybe that is it. :)

  4. Have you read Tatting Technique and History by Elgiva Nicholls? She has a section where she classifies motifs according to how the center is designed-- central ring, rings surrounding and empty space, etc. With newer tatting techniques, you could even add other categories besides what Nicholls proposes, like a cluster of clunies, a bead, or a square of block tatting. Fascinating stuff.

  5. Thanks, everyone for the comments. I do believe this is all about new phases, beginnings ... All good and often very challenging at the same time. What else is new!

Thanks, Miranda, for that tip. I have read that book and I do have it here on my shelf, so I will check out the section you have mentioned as I don't remember it. Good tip.

  9. Try Weyler's newest treat with chocolate in the middle. LOL YUM

My first thought was that Centers are the origin of balance; and, everything flows from there. Since you are a person who likes order and balance ~ it makes sense that centers would hold a fascination.
