Again!

Well, I've managed to tat a border that will necessitate having at least one side in another thread.

Though I picked a very simple Mary Konior border, to try to avoid running out of thread, it seems I underestimated what this edging requires.

I am NOT going to order more, as thread from Australia and the post office do not play well together.

The good news is that the thread for the Land of Laces piece has finally, after three months, arrived! Now I shall have to summon the interest needed to get back to that pattern - after the edging, maybe.

The Post, The Thread and the Boredom

Tatting on. Waiting. Trying to decide on a bigger project, but do not want to start anything till the Land of Laces piece is complete. After all, I have mainly been a serial monogamous tatter.

For Now, Fruits!

Yes, fruits it is: oranges and lemons, courtesy of Mary Konior.

As I wait for thread to arrive, I  am using the last of my HDT - #70 - a gift from Lea, sent along with my last order months ago.

Not wanting to run short, always a consideration of mine, I opted for a simple pattern that I figure will go well with the variegated colours and will last till the end of the border.

I think the colours play well with this hanky's embroidery, even though they are not, by any means, a match.

The pattern is relaxing and easy! A treat. Love MK patterns.

Pressing On: Presson & Blomqvist

Pretty little motif - 4" - tatted with this silk thread, sent to me by my friend, Suneeti:

I thought the silk would be much finer and difficult to tat with, but surprisingly, it was delightfully smooth and quite substantial, rather like a #40!

Every motif I have tatted using this pattern has been teeny. This one has some heft and with my newly-found tension has attitude!

It is a gorgeous carmine red:

Fujito Finished

41/2"
Pattern by Teiko Fujito
A fun and relaxing tat.

This one has a home to go to! A friend would like to have it. So, when I realized I had left out a ring in the middle of the motif, I was dismayed.

However, it was very easy to fix, requiring no un- tatting or cutting  - a rare situation, indeed!

Wrong One!

Well, now that I am still waiting, I thought I'd try out a thread of Lea's called Volcano. It is a #70.

It arrived in the post, but not the two blue skeins I need! They were mailed at the same time! Go figure.

Lots of un-tatting - finding it hard to concentrate with the wonderful Spring breezes outside...

The Postman Disappoint-eth

Ho-hum. Still waiting for mail from Australia.

So, I joined the Spinning Wheel Glass Mat crowd
with Karey Solomon HDT#40:

Meandering Mail

Wondering where my blue thread is in Picot Purgatory, somewhere out there in Tat-land.

While waiting, I have begun another MK piece in Karey Solomon HDT #40.

There is at least one tatter who will definitely approve, even though it is not tatted in BLUE!

The Fearless Hunter and his Tatter

The Pascsle Provost motif is 31/2”,
tatted with Karey Solomon's #40 HDT.
