Inside Out And Athalia

...sort of how I feel!
That is the name of Julie Patterson's bookmark pattern:

                                                                                                        #52/100
I really love the shape of this.  And the thread I used pleases me as well It is tatted in #40 yellow Lizbeth and LadyShuttlemaker's 'Magnolia,' which is a fabulous colourway. Way to go, Sherry!

It is also a very relaxing tat - which is very good for me right now.

I have been giving away tatting left and right, all over the place, wherever I have meetings about mum's estate. Women ( I have been dealing only with women, no sexism intended - these are the people who happen to be my contacts in the various institutions!) love the little motifs and seem interested in investigating tat-ology, which I am not at all shy about talking about.  I push the blog on anyone who will listen!  Tatting rocks!!!!

I am going to write up my pattern for 'Athalia' - my mum's name.  Last year after I designed the Misha Heart I did this one as well, and also another called 'Evelyn,'  (My Gram's name) which I shall write up next.

I shall post 'Athalia' under Free Patterns at the top of the blog as soon as it is written up. Mum would like that indeed.

It's Ready To Go!

Yup.  I am putting Heart For Misha in an Etsy shop and seeing if I can inspire myself to design some tatting patterns. Scary stuff! I could just paste it on my blog, as I have the other two designs, but it is so confronting to ask tatters to actually pay for the design that I think the fear (read hammering in chest!) is beneficial for prompting creativity.  Just my personal take on it.  : )
So, it is listed here
Yikes.

***************

The tatting has improved:

#52/100    Julie Patterson's 'Around The Rings'
Jess's HTD

Big, big improvement in the stabbing method (?) of tatting with a shuttle.  I have turned the shuttle around so that the hook faces the right when I am tatting. This prevents the constant snagging I was experiencing before when I sped up the action.  All seems to be going smoothly with that adjustment and I can actually really zip along!

Hmmm.... Too late I noticed..... Too bad I joined the very end to the wrong place.  Way to go, Fox.

Frivole's and Ladytats's videos of tatting techniques were very valuable to me in figuring out how to carry out this method.

Oh, I almost forgot!  Take a look at this!

Tatting Fool sent me this photo of her rendition of 'Maeve' (free pattern by moi).  Isn't it terrific?  Thanks TF!

Tatting Rules The World!" - Jane E

Jane said it all, but I think that tatting of this ilk had better stay put before sitting on any throne!
This is from Julie Patterson's bookmark book:

#51 Design by Julie Patterson HDT by Tatskool  Beads -  Suneeti? Jess?
The sparkly blue thread is definitely from Suneeti! I forget the brand...

Well, I am ready to start something new...but I do not have a clue as to what to tat.  I am waiting for one more test tatter to return the report on the Misha pattern and then I shall release it to Tat-land. I hope that some tatters will be interested in tatting it.

On the design front, I have two more designs on the go. Seems I like this part of tatting too!

Double Stitch Disorder

Tatting is great for stress, not so much for grieving... I can't seem to get anything to work and now am struggling with fourteen thumbs - on one hand!

Probably my brain is cooked from all the paperwork and meetings and so on that have become my life in the past few days -  that and being the only one to empty mum's apartment over the next three weeks, as the sibling flew the coup immediately following the funeral - leaving moi to deal. Whew - there is a lot to cope with.

This is what it's come to...
...a sorry sight I'm afraid.

I have started something new, desperate to see if I remember a thing that I have learned over the past 4 years, and hoping the bright colours will have a positive effect on my mood.

Someone else is wishing for the very same thing!

Anon.
