No Match

I see there is a big difference in the colour of the thread I received to finish the piece compared to the original.

Oh well. Everything about this pattern has gone wrong from the beginning, so why not dye lots as well?

There are twenty hearts in the round. It should not take me too long to complete them. I'll be very glad to move on.

  2. The difficulties of matching dyelots! But given that the piece is worked in more than one colour anyway, I don't think it will be glaring or even noticeable.

  3. I don't think the dye is not too far apart and I don't think it will notice when you have finished it,
It's going to look lovely when you have finished it.

Ps we are not that far apart now catching up with you.

  4. It's still toning though, and looking very effective - shame you couldn't get an exact match.

  5. Well, that's to be expected with HDT's. I agree with Jeff, it looks fine. The new one just looks like a slightly lighter version of the older one. As long as you stick with the same color for the solid rounds, it will come out fine.

  6. I don't think it's a bad match either. Of course seeing it on a computer monitor is far different from seeing it in person. Still, I'm sure the recipient will love it!

  7. It may not be an exact match but it still looks great together. Personally I like the slight variation.

  8. I think it is going to look lovely! On my screen it just looks a bit lighter than the first. You could just say you were going for an atmospheric look. The further away things are in perspective, the lighter they seem to get. So, the further from the center, the lighter the colors become . . . right? ? ? ;)

  9. I like it. The new thread is the same as the old, just 'lighter.' Looks like it 'belongs' with the other threads. It will look wonderful when you are finished.

  10. Thankfully, you didn't run out in the middle of a round. As it is, no one would ever guess that the change in color is not intentional. It all looks great together.

  11. I am a 'matcher' - but I've learned in quilting that colors are more interesting if they 'blend' instead of matching exactly. I think the colors blend very nicely!
