Again!

Well, I've managed to tat a border that will necessitate having at least one side in another thread.

Though I picked a very simple Mary Konior border, to try to avoid running out of thread, it seems I underestimated what this edging requires.

I am NOT going to order more, as thread from Australia and the post office do not play well together.

The good news is that the thread for the Land of Laces piece has finally, after three months, arrived! Now I shall have to summon the interest needed to get back to that pattern - after the edging, maybe.

  5. Oh, dear! I've had that happen to me in the past, which is why I have so much thread... I always order at least two, but most often three, of the threads I really like. I glad your thread finally arrived. Now we'll get to see your doily again!

  6. I had the same problem with a hanky edging at least once. I was using 'vintage' thread and there WAS no more of it to be had. Ended up buying something similar, but not the same and making the last side in a slightly different color combination. Figured not many people are going to see me USE the hanky anyway, and I enjoy 'color,' so why not? ;-) You have used some really beautiful thread, too much work and too pretty to discard. Maybe one or two solid colors that ....'almost' match some of the colors in the original thread? Or a variegated that ....sort of.... picks up the colors, but isn't quite the same? (That was my 'solution' to the problem years ago.)
Mr. G, as always, is gorgeous.
