No Mail. But a Heart

Susan K. Fuller had made this heart
beloved in Tat-Land all around the world.

This is the first time of many, many  sessions, after 7 years with this pattern that I did not use coloured markers or a sticky to tell me where I am. I only had to retat one ring. I am chuffed!

Waiting for Lea's thread, I used the last bit on this heart. It is #50. The heart is probably about a bit less than 2".

I am stymied as to why I have been so enchanted for so long with teeny tiny threads; this was so lovely to work with.

And now I am stashless with nothing thicker than #80 except some balls of white and a skein or two of HDT! Woe is me!

Of course I've known for a while I am going to need to buy more, but I'm still not certain as to what to pick. I hope Lea's arrives from Australia very soon!

    1. Thanks, Stephanie. Usually I don't like variegated thread for this pattern, but I like this! : )

  6. Wow, Fox! This is really pretty. I love the color way. And those picots all look exactly the same size to me! Do you have a magic potion? Or a picot sizer? :)

Hope your new thread gets there soon! Can't wait to see what you come up with next!

  7. It has been my experience that mail between Australia and Canada can - and frequently does - take more than a month. The nice man at my local post office blames the big sorting centre in your home city. He says it's a big black hole. Apparently mail from here quickly gets to Vancouver and then it's in the lap of the gods. When my son was living in Ottawa, it used to take so long for him to receive even something as simple as a birthday card that I eventually gave up the effort and expense of posting parcels to him and relied on online services. But he's back home now, so I can spoil him !

    1. Yes, Maureen, I am aware of that black hole! It took well over a month for thread to arrive from down under the time before last when I ordered. Another time it took just over a week! You never know...

    1. Hi Margaret! Thanks. Mr.G says it's a sissy heart. Then he huffs away, looking for a treat. What does he know!

  11. Don't know why mail between Australia and Canada takes so darn long.
I waited on a package from Canada for nearly 9 weeks.

Don't stress Fox. The wait is worth it. Love her threads\

  12. Lovely job! My favorite size is 40. I can get a delicate result without my eyes going crossed or having to get microscopic sized needles to pick out mistakes. But--I've been using 70 and 80 almost exclusively for the past month and really enjoying myself! Doing well if I do say so except for the sewing ends in still doesn't get a pretty result about half the time. guess I need more practice!
