Email to umintsuru just now:

I just saw it is all wrong! Only 4 rings are attached!  Have to cut out all ovals! DISMAY!

  1. Oh no. I hope you find something to take your mind off it for just a bit and then come back more relaxed(that's my trick). :)

  2. Oh no! Then if I understood "cut out", you will remove the ovals - that are beautifully tatted- and change thread for the connection chain, right? Because "cut out" I found it also means eliminate then it'd be referred to the unpleasant red... Not so sad.

  4. At least you hadn't attached ALL the ovals - or had you? There has to be a positive in here somewhere.

  6. Oh, the Horror!

Well, yes, Maureen, there IS a silver lining! I am learning a lot from this pattern. The next go-around is much better, as I now know what I am doing.

I had attached only three, so not so bad, though it took a lot of time to cut off the ovals. Lots of lock stitches.

Thanks Margaret! No earmuffs needed as Gian has learned to talk back! Siamese are VERY, VERY vocal!

Thanks, Tatters, for all the sympathy and obvious empathy! : )) I need it!

  7. I so glad you are happy and thinking about the next one, I thank you for your unbreakable spirit with such large tasks and you are much more of a perfectionist than I. I really should have redid the centers of my ovals, because I feel I did them too loose. But instead I decided to make them all loose:) cause I was so excited to see more. And your are right many times I think of other colors and wonder. When you suggested this, it was strange because I had my eye on "Pinecones " from Ben's other book A Tatting Adventure, he really does delicate lace, love the style.

  8. oh goodness, how awful to have to cut, but you have done it before and come back better than ever. I expect you will this time too. Take a break and find something relaxing to do for a bit. Love your work as always.

  10. I have not made a doily yet where the scissors have not come out. I always am in horror when I find the mistake but once cut and the repair has begun I feel so so much better. May you find peace with this doily.
