What a splendid idea. Will you eventually get it back?
Do hope it doesn't get lost in the post.

Well, here it is a few years later, and I am pleased to say Angeline has returned safely home, looking to be in pretty good shape too!

Thank you to all Tatters out in Tat-Land who visited with the book and took such care.

It is poignant to see that the first person to respond to the post and the first to receive Angeline was Gina. In retrospect, that is most fitting.

Jane, I am glad that your worries did not come to fruition! There was never a problem that could not be solved or any mishap along the journey; it all went smoothly.

All went well except that poor Margaret, last on the list, had to pay the awful postage charge for the voyage home! Thank you, Margaret, and thank you for the tatting, thread and pretty card enclosed.
And Bob’s yer uncle.

  1. Next time - ask everyone to enclose a postcard with the book as it travels around the world - what fun it would be to spend a few hours reading all of them when the book comes home!
My first thought too, was that it was so good to know that Gina got to spend some of her precious time with Angeline.

  4. This is a wonderful post - very nicely written, in your unique style! I also can't believe it's been three and a half years! I'm relieved it made it back safely! And also got as far as Australia! It was so generous of you to share it in this special way. It was also wonderful that some tatters took the time to tat some of the motifs and showed how attractive they are in modern threads, in both white and color! I'm still amazed that I ordered a copy way back in1994 (as a Christmas present) because someone in our group had a copy and I thought it would be nice to have one for my own 'library'. I really had no idea who Angeline was at the time. She certainly kept the tatting flame alive and worked so hard to print and bind each book! An amazing lady!

It was especially poignant to see Gina's comment.

    1. Hi, Kathy,
      ...also Scotland, Engand and Singapore!

It really is hard to believe it has been that long. Where do the days and years go?

  9. I was thrilled to spend time with Angeline. My only regret is that I did not choose a motif to tat as a reminder of all the lovely patterns. I keep hearing rumors of re-prints... one can only hope!

  13. I haven't worked on anything in such a long time, and though I have been slow to catch up, I started reading the blogs and was soooo delighted to read this one! I am so grateful to have gotten the chance to spend time with Angeline, your generosity will never be forgotten! It was indeed a chance for me to read and enjoy something I would not have ever gotten the chance to otherwise. Again, Thank You. Bree.
