From My Fabulous Friend...

...Snowy.

In the mail - a huge package that was really heavy.
I was mystified as I could not figure out what I had ordered.
Imagine my surprise when I opened that airmail package and saw this...

Can you imagine?

I have lusted after this book for a long time and now I have 1,000 photographs to ogle! Ohh, I am one lucky tatter!

I have already opened the book and randomly chosen a little motif to take the edge off the numerous Honey Napkin repeats I have endured today. Blessed relief!

Snowy also included three tiny tatted motifs, which she says I can pass along if I want. No way! They are an inspiration and a joy to behold and I am keeping them all for myself! You can easily see why. : )

Once again, thank you, Snowy, for this marvellous gift.

  4. What do you call the decorative metal pieces in the center of tatting? Where can I buy them? Your work is gorgeous!

    1. Hi, Stacey,
Thank you so much. * blush*

The metal things I call doodads, or you might call call them “findings” if you go to get them in a bead store. That is where I buy mine.

Some tatters do not prefer the word doodad, though it is in the dictionary and the thesaurus. You could look it up and decide for yourself, as the jury is out on this one!

  5. Stamped Filigree - that's what they were labelled as when I came across them in a very out-of-the-way little haberdashery shop.

What a magnificent gift, it's an inspiring volume.

And as I have a copy too, perhaps we will find ourselves on the same motif again sometime.
