Forget It!

The Boss wanted a large mat for her bedside table in pink and purple - so forget the cap!

I just blocked this and I am going to proceed and add a border in Finca #8 variegated purple that I shall pick up later today. it is less expensive than the Cebelia and comes in those little perle balls. Perfect.

That cap is not going to work and I looked at the pattern, which I think will remain flat - or I will adapt it to. There. A decision. Now to get some more boxes to pack...

  1. It's looking very good as a mat. Way to go to adapt it to what you want to do!

  2. My DD's room was pink and purple when she was young. This will be a pretty mat.

  6. It's so puzzling that the hat won't curve, but I think the mat is a much more practical idea and will be seen every day! Although the hat is attractive, it's not very practical in cool weather!

It sounds like you'll be busy with the upcoming move! Hope you're getting some help with that! Is Gian sensing a change of venue? :)

  7. I'm a bit sorry you've abandoned the cap Fox - I was really looking forward to seeing it done and worn! The centre motif in it is really pretty.

    1. It i not at all abandoned! It is just lying flat as a pancake! So, it will be a mat... I am following the directions exactly!

    2. Perhaps it will start cupping when you make the next rounds? I will go examine the book...

  8. that is interesting that the cap pattern lays flat!
do you suppose it is the final rounds that cause it to cup?

That will be very pretty in pink and purple.

Wish I was close enough to give you a hand with the move. that can be so much work.

    1. Thanks, Ladytats. It is a lot of work! : )

I don’t know why it is lying flat. Someone over at InTatters had the same thing happen and warned me about this...

  9. So often you want a pattern to lie flat and it doesn't! So it's a bit ironic that your hat isn't cupping. Odd. I was looking forward to seeing a hat. But the mat is going to look splendid.

  10. Late to the comment party...let me chime in with praises for your (so far) pink hat-turned-mat that wouldn't lie flat. Pretty, pretty! Are you at liberty to share why you are moving?

P.S. I am in love with the thread you are using for TIAS 2013. Reminds me of watercolor paintings.
