Racking Up The Rows

As a break this time I decided to play with buttons...
This is really not my thing. I don’t seem to be enjoying tatting with
them as much as lots of other tatters...

Nope.

  1. Wow! It looks wonderful!!
As for the button, that button looks fairly large, maybe you would enjoy a smaller button? I don't like trying to get the picots in the holes, but that's more because I don't like worrying with a hook. Other than that, I like the outcome. :o)

  2. You're really making progress, well done! Yeah, I'm a bit dubious about working with buttons myself, though I thought the same about beads at one stage and then became a convert.

    1. Jane,
      Thanks!

Yeah, that convert stuff is what I am worrying about... buttons, buttons on the brain...

  3. I have plenty of buttons to experiment with, but I haven't tried yet. When I do try tatting with buttons, I'm pretty sure I'll use small buttons. Save the big ones for something else!

You're putting me in the mood to tat a doily. I think it will have to be one of Iris Niebach's. It's been a while, and I do enjoy the challenge of her doilies!

    1. Oh yes - now I want to tat an Iris pattern as well! They look positively tiny compared to this mother-of-all-doilies!

Good luck on the fair, Margaret. Gian hopes your table is over-run with field mice.
