Feeling The Need...

...For Beads!

#4/100 Motif Challenge
Myra Piper Motif  #40 Lizbeth

I had to tat something small, beaded and pretty; this filled the bill. I really like the way I now add 4 beads, instead of three, to the picot in the middle.

If you look closely, there are gold beads at the inside and three pink-toned at the top. The centre beads are plain pink. That is three different kinds of beads in a motif measuring under 21/2 inches!

Update on the Honey Napkin

Beads added here too.
I found some that do not stand out but add just a hint of glitter.
Thanks Miranda. Seems your gift will go on for years!

  1. Oh, I like how you've added the beads in both projects! They do add a hint of glitter and I'm sure their sparkle shows much more in person.

  2. This is just amazingly beautiful! I went to the link for the blog the pattern came from, how did you translate it? Is there a link to the pattern itself? I LOVE patterns with rosettes in the middle of them and you've done such a wonderful job on it.

    1. Carol,
What you have to do is to download the photos, which have the stitch counts printed on it - look closely! There are no written instructions - just the photos.

    2. Hi Carol, I use translate.google.com you can copy and paste a websites URL into the box, and then click on the translation. it will translate the whole blog or website for you. while the translations are perfect it works pretty well.

    3. Thank you ladies! I just love that doily and while I don't think I'm that talented as yet, I would love to have the pattern for when (and if) I become so. :-)

    1. Hi, Sue,
Glad you are liking the Honey Napkin. It is a simple design (so far!) but very pretty, I think. : ) Fox

  4. I'm speechless again for all the tatting that you accomplish! I'm now starting to buy seed beads and hope I have the patience for them in my small projects. As for large doilies, I'll just enjoy watching from afar!

The four beads look good on the motif!

    1. Kathy, I sometimes wonder what I would do id I could not tat. Way too much danger of introspection... Not good! Got to keep that bouncy brain focussed!

  7. Lovely! Every once in a while I pull out a tube of beads and think... what would Fox do with these? Then I gently put them away. Like Scarlet O'Hara, I think... tomorrow is another day!

  13. Lovely, as always! You inspired me too, and I used beads that was in my latest tatting (shown in my blog - I may even get into a weekly blog posting rhythm? Who knows!)

I had never used several beads on the same picot, I felt it was too crowded - but with the one on the core thread, I love the look!

    1. Hi, creativasuculencia,
I avoided using the 4 when I first saw them on 'Elizabeth’s Tatting,’ but when I tried it it was so easy! ANd I too love the look of it - it looks so ‘finished.’ Try it! You will use it often, I promise!
