Egged On by Hearts

#80
This was trickier than it looked, not in following directions, but in tatting the stitches well.  I made a number of mistakes and will tat it again. It is a fun one from this book:

I bought this book as a result of seeing a bunch of patterns tatted by Tatskool last year.  Her interpretations are marvellous, especially worked in her wonderful HDTs.

Now, I have also one more motif to show you.  Guess what it is?
Another heart!
I am getting the hang of it.
( I can hear you groaning, 'finally!')

One thing that confuses me.  A few of you commented that tatting this Catherine Wheel Join is the same as doing a split ring. I know the end result is the same, but it seems to me that the act of tatting each is different - a lot different!

  3. Yes, those CWJ's look pretty good. That's two hearts in a row you've been satisfied with!

Not split rings, but split chains. It is actually exactly the same motions: pull the loop through from behind, then from in front, then tighten. The only difference is in having to catch the picot as well as the core thread.

  4. Your kidding! Kind of like the way Jon does her carbone rings! I will try it that way, which I can do effortlessly.
    Thanks, Miranda.

  6. BRAVO !!! Fox vous êtes arrivée à un coeur parfait et je crois que la solution de Jon, comme elle fait pour les anneaux plastiques, est parfaite c'est comme cela que je le fais aussi....

  7. yup, CWJ, split chains, and covering carbone rings are the same motions. if you can do one, then you can do the others.
I see you have persevered once again and your heart with CWJ is very pretty.

    congratulations.
