Resplendently Regal

#36-100 Motif Challenge

Regal by Frivole is a lovely pattern, is it not?  And the thread is a great colour-way, though I mixed it with plain Milford violet, as I just could not envision the entire piece done in the variegated. This would have looked so much better in a single colour.

The blue Swarovski crystals have been with me for over a year; I was just waiting for the right opportunity.

This thread is Lola, #40, by Yarnplayer - a gift to me from my friend Suneeti, who has spoiled me with some lovely tatting goodies lately. More about that in the next tattings...

  1. It is lovely- I agree about the variegation but wonderful workmanship.

  2. Lovely thread. I love variegated thread, but some patterns aren't as good for it.

At first glance, I thought the thread was some of Karey Solomon's. You can only get hers at tatting events that she comes to, but it's well worth it.

  6. It is so pretty, Fox! That's a nice colorway, and I like how your crystals play up the blue.

  7. Looks wonderful Fox! I really like the mix of colours and I think the blue Swarovskis bring it all together. Yes, it's true, you loose the shape a little when using variegated but the colours are so pretty.

  8. Oooh - beautiful. I love the pattern! I think I would like it better in a solid color, but the thread colors ARE beautiful - as are the Swarovskis.

    I'm such a pokey tatter - I can't believe how much you accomplish :)

  9. I think it would have looked good in one color, too, but it still looks nice like this. Nice job!
