Midnight Madness and Angeline Update

 #19 Motif Challenge

Last night, I couldn't sleep, so on came the light and look what happened!

I don't even remember how it all came about, but I do like this!  Seems this could be the beginning  of a bit of a habit - picking up the thread and a bauble and just letting the shuttle find its way. I am mystified by the  process and how I came to be able do this, but hey, I am not going to question it - it is simply too much fun!

Angeline's Travelling Book Adventure Update

There has been a bit of a mix-up in the numbering of the recipients, and the book is currently winging its way to Arty Lady in  Australia.  So, I have arranged the names of those tatters who live in that part of the world to follow  next on the list in order as to keep mailing fees as low as possible.

If you are not on the list, and want to be included, write a comment or email me.

If you have been omitted in error, let me know.

If you have a suggestion, I'd love to hear it.

  1. You can't sleep because your Muse awaits you in the night! It's a bit like the Shoemaker and the Elves, isn't it? - waking up the next morning to find this gorgeous piece has somehow tatted itself while you weren't looking!

  2. Well, I am sad. I thought I was on the list, but I do not see my name. :-(

    Please add me...please...pretty please?

  3. Wow, you "late-night tat" like a writing friend of mine "late-night writes" (whole chapters of her fan-fiction novels). What a great way to tap into your creativity!

Since Martha is moving, do you have her new address for when it is time for Angeline's Traveling Book to wing its way to her corner of Tat Land?

  7. Love this motif! It's amazing how things come to us - I had a great idea for a pattern come the other night in a fit of insomnia. Take 'em as you get 'em!

  10. Your colors in the motif are beautiful. That was more fun that lying awake in bed, right?

I think I gave you my post office box address for Angeline's book, so that will stay the same, I think.

  12. Ah, the best kind of tatting - Midnight Musings! LOL

I love those dual-color split rings - it really makes the center POP!

  13. I truly believe that we waste to many hours at night just sleeping!! (this from someone who is in bed and a sleep at 9:30 each night) I will have to try to get to your bead store but I am not a great downtown TO driver.

  14. I do like your creativity. Your colors and tatting are delightful. In fact I enjoy your blog so much it's on my favorites bar.
I thought I was in line after Diane for Angeline's book and was concerned that it would come while I am gone to Shuttlebirds in Spokane. Since I'm not coming directly home I'd have had to get permission to keep it longer. The trip out of country has made it better for me and everyone in line after me. Thank you for the update and giving us the opportunity to enjoy Angeline's book. Karen in OR

  20. ♥Thanks, Everyone!♥

The comments are wonderful, and I am glad you like this motif. Now I have to see if I can tat it without the shiny bit...

I think I have fixed the wonky list and we are back on track one year after Angeline set out on the big Adventure. Can it be a whole year?

  21. This design is just amazing! There's a lot going on here, and I'm impressed you could do this during a bit of insomnia. I'm often up late at night, but other than reading or typing things into the computer, I wouldn't have the clarity of miind to think this through and actually tat it! And you're dealing with beads and split rings and several colors of thread!

I'm curious how big the metallic element is. I see a lot of these pieces in jewelry but most don't seem big enough to get a shuttle hook through.

And you have a new header! No doubt an everyday occurrence with Misha peeking over your laptop screen. Very sweet (And cleverly done.)

  22. Hi, Kathy,
The rings are very small - maybe a half inch across. I had trouble getting the hook through.

  23. I' d love to see that book!

But, I don't think I can commit to something in two years time. I also don't trust my mail at all, not for something irreplaceable like that. Just wanted to chime in and say it is a fun idea, and hope everyone who gets it enjoys it. When it is closer to the date I'd love to brainstorm something...

PS: I love the midnight motif, really lovely!
