Finally!

#24 Motif Challenge

The hankie turned out to be smaller than the standard ones and is lopsided to boot.  Was a bit of a challenge to sew on the edging and it's linen, so the weave is more open than cotton and all the sewing shows more easily.  But, it is done, and I think pretty. Phew!

  1. It looks lovely and if it is actually used, it's usually folded/bunched in a pocket so that the lace edging is what shows anyway.

This is for your sister, is it not? She's quite lucky....

  3. The lace looks great! You actually did this fairly quickly, considering all the other things you were working on, and your frustrations and re-tatting.

This is a beautiful edging for a handkerchief, and I love how you added the beads Also, I was introduced to Frivole's blog through your post of April 4 (and she's on your blog roll), and was delighted to see her work and her other patterns. This 'Iris" pattern includes the corners, which is so helpful.

I'm sure your niece will love this handkerchief!

  6. Beautiful! Being lopsided wouldn't bother me at all. It's the love and effort that went into it that counts!

  8. Lovely and frothy! - just the way lace should be! Congratulations, you're SO good at these hankies, I'm almost sorry that you are now taking a break from them. They may be boring to tat, but the end result is always stunning and worth the effort.

  9. Thank You, All, for your generous praise and for your ongoing support.

Honestly, if it were not for this tat-ology, I do not think I would get so much tatting completed. The comments are always such a great boost to the spirit.

    Maureen, I particularly like "frothy!!"

Kathy, I am so glad you found Frivole! I love her site!
