Veering To Vintage

My camera says it better today than I can...

** Please note that I originally credited "Gardenia" to Mary Konior.
With sincere apologies to Iris Niebach and a very red face,
I have corrected my bad editing.

I have been influenced lately by
Gina's tatting.  Check
out her blog to see some
interesting posts about
vintage patterns.

  3. THIS IS VERY UNFAIR OF YOU, FOX!!!!!

I do not KNOW where to begin - SO MUCH LOVELY TATTING - I think my head is going to pop off, you've got so many ideas swirling in there!

The Mary Konior edging is SO pretty! Her designs are simple and elegant. Beautiful job with it!

The DMC edging is VERY SWEET in lilac and aqua. I love those little rings dripping off of the chains like tiny rose buds. WHAT GETS ME is that looking at the picture of the Plate in the book - I probably would have overlooked it (most likely writing it off as "too foofy"), and am now wondering how many REALLY nice patterns I have discounted. It looks great as a circular motif also!

The wonderful thing about vintage patterns - there are SO MANY of them available on the web. Enjoy your time-travel-tatting!

    :) Ann

  4. The ecru is very pretty! I've been watching Gina's progress also, and I've been tempted to join her in her venture. However, I have been distracted by that lovely Peacock Blues thread

Lucky Maeve! I wonder if my granddaughters are ready for more lace-edged socks?

  9. As soon as I finish my current project I am going to start tatting the Mary Koniors. Her patterns never cease to amaze me.

The josephine rings edging on Maeve's socks looks like tiny baubles, so cute.

  10. Am in love with Mary Konior's Gardenia! Think you make everybody want to start on this edging right away. May I ask you: is this pattern somewhere free on the internet, or do I need to buy a book in which it is published?? By all means: I do want to respect copyrights!

  17. Another blunder! I am staying up way too late!

** Please note that the Josephine Knot border comes from the Vintage DMC Book, NOT from a Priscilla book. I apologize for any confusion.

  20. Tattingrid,

The book with the pattern in it is
    "tatting Fantasia" by Iris Niebach.
    Her link is http://www.iristatting.com/

Here you can see all her stuff. The book is available at most tatting suppliers on-line, I think.
