My Fancy Dancy Design

Design by Fox,  Thread by Karey Solomon

Wow, that felt really cool to type!  Well, enough of overweening pride...Hubris will out!  I forgot to add a bead, and in fact forgot to join two picots!  There you are,  Confessions of a tatting designer --- whoops!  Did it again!

"So obnoxious," says Maebh, who has been disgusted with me for days.

"You have forgotten  D-I-G-N-I-T-Y," she spelled out to me this morning, very, very slowly.   Then she turned her back and gave The Cat a tweak on the ear.

Just to keep the tatting in perspective, (says the OCD tatter)
I noticed this this morning:

Boo Hoo!

  4. I don't see the flaws...only a beautiful design that has been lovingly tatted. Happy extra hour tatting...

  5. I completely and absolutely love your design, can I make it for a piece of jewelry?
I only want to make it for myself, not for sale or anything, but I want to ask first, since it is your very own design and your first one of your own :D if you say no, I understand :)

  6. Hi, Bree, I am honoured that you want to make my design! It would be wonderful if you tat it, gave me the credit and posted it on your blog! That would make me very proud and happy! Thanks!

  7. It's so very festive looking!

Isn't it fascinating to look at your Blogger stats? I seem to have quite a following in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. Who'da thunk?

  9. Do I detect some gloating??

Well, by all means go right ahead - you've certainly earned it!!

I love the colorway chosen. It's rather... leprechaun-ish!

  10. Well, today you will have a dot from Canberra too :)

This is a nifty gadget. Where did you get it from?

  11. The design, the colour and the beads: ALL GREAT.
And don't worry about your fellow Canadians, the rest of the WORLD is following you... Just kidding. It is wonderful to see all those dots on the worldmap and see from where you are being followed, isn't. It really brings tatters together. Keep on going, Fox! and.. when is your pattern book going to be published.. I just know it is just a matter of time...

  13. I'm glad your design was a success; it is very pretty, even with your confessions. :>) I just quit the whole business after the negative response from "Teach" about my squishy, poor effort.
I really wanted just to explore what designers went through to produce a design. And, of course, some folks don't use any math at all in their software (which would be my choice). I don't think any one even attempted to tat my 'idea'; which was a real disappointment. So it lies 'dead' in the box. I always have great ideas for composition (paintings) or design (the idea was good, execution sucked) but lack the technical expertise to pull it off….que sera, sera

  15. Suneeti, Jamais! ♥♥♥

Ridgewoman, I really just want to know the process as well. Plus, I was interested in using the computer and how the software works.
My design is a happy and unexpected result. Probably a lucky one-off!
    Thanks for the visit, bj!

  16. I see no mistakes, nor am I looking for them, I just see beautiful tatting

    101 visitors, that's pretty cool

  17. Thanks, Bonnie. Yes, it it, but I was really just pointing out that I notice how the interest in tatting seems to show up elsewhere, at least, on my particular blog. I was not so much interested in the numbers as in the locations and percentages of them in different places! Thanks for the visit!
