A Lupin(e) By Any Other Name...

If you read tat-ology much, you will know by now I cannot leave something alone once I have started a project and the usual problems erupt.  I keep picking away at it, until I find some sense of completion. I am still tatting little lupin(e)s, which I trail after myself everywhere - at work, in a book, on a table...  little remnants  everywhere.

Inspired by The Space Between, I had to find this and try it:

 #20 Motif Challenge

I love this pattern.  Ah, Mary Konior...

I am not done yet with Ring A Ring O'Roses, and so that I will not tire of the pattern have chosen a lovely forget-me-not-blue thread, dyed by the illustrious Tatskool.  It is size #60 - there's the challenge.  These days I don't usually tat with anything smaller than #40.

No beads, no special flourishes, just plain, simple tatting of a "fairly" straight - forward motif, to be tatted in one round.will ensure that I concentrate on the basics - I hope! It's all your fault, Jeff!  Go look at his rendering. It is fabbo!

  1. Attah girl, get back on that bucking bronco and ride 'em! That forget-me-not blue of Tatskool's is so delicate. Is it NEW?

My fingers are getting all tingly at the thought of new HDTs.

  2. I love the convolvulpus. I did not like it in white and passed over it every time but the yellow and white....oooooh-la-la.

  3. Oh, now, it's hardly fair to blame Jeff; that post was a year ago. :) Is that one of Tatskool's Rainbow Bright solids?

  5. I probably shouldn't mention that I started another Ring A Ring O'Roses last night, so I won't. It is a nice pattern. Can't wait to see your snowflake.

  7. Jeff - Now I am REALLY motivated! ♥

Miranda - If you were to read Jeff's comment on the last post, you might realize whey I got into a "Blame Jeff" mode! ; ))

The thread is from months ago - I was saving it. It is from the Swwe Shop series.

  8. Convolvulus is one of my favorite patterns. So simple but soooo pretty. I also like your ring a ring o'roses. The onion rings are lovely!

  9. Don't get too motivated-I just ran out of thread. I guess the snowflake requires more than 12 yards of thread.

Hey, I meant what I said. If I ever get brave, I may have to show some of my early work. Most of my early work looks atrocious compared to what it looks like today.

  10. Everything today is so inspiring-too bad I have told myself to try and finish all the current in motion projects before starting others(not that I usually listen to myself-hmmmmm.....must have learned that from my kids) :D

  12. Thank you, ancolie!

God's Kid, That is my problem too - trying to keep it to finishing what is already on the shuttles. I remember when I would only tat one at a time - HAH!

  13. You're tatting without beads?... Are you feeling OK? LOL j/k

I love your tatted work regardless of beads or no beads... but there's just something so 'Fox' like about a tatted piece when I see beads! It's like your trademark ;-)
Hmmm... the Mary Konior pattern... I can see little clear crystal beads added to that... oh, I'm getting warm and fuzzy inside just thinking about it!
I think I know what my next purchase will be (some MK books!)

Tatskool has some really nice HDTs.. how did you decide to use it. I know for me, I would have a very hard time choosing the right pattern to go with a special thread! Speaking of special threads... I ordered 4 different HDT's from Sherry, and I'm getting itchy... waiting for them to come in!!
