That is so adorable!... Just the right touch!
It looks great!!!!
Wonderful, Fox! I like the colours you've used.
Very cute! I'm thinking my granddaughters deserve something special as well. Time to go digging through the stash!
I agree, it's très extraordinaire! :) I love the beads of the edging.
great job, the edging just adds that little extra.
Hey Fox!The chapeau is truly ADORABLE! The trim is a perfect compliment to the hat's shape and color, and the tatted flower is downright BODACIOUS!:) Ann
Thanks, you guys! Glad you approve!♥ Fox : ))
That's a pretty hat! :)
I love the colours of this one, so sweet and fresh!
I think it helps make it look 'crisp'!Like it!
Gorgeous little hat; but I am interested in whether the sewn-on tatting would affect the "stretchiness" of the hat? - I've always been nervous about mixing techniques with fibre, and I'd love to hear of your opinion, and experience. I know you have made many pairs of socks with tatted edgings, but that's a bit different, because the edging is right on the tip of the sock.
Maureen, I had the same question. If you look, this border is also sewn on at the edge; I have rolled it up because Maeve will probably have to have it shortened a bit and will grow into it.It is not too stretch, but the hat is not going to be snug, either. I would make it tighter on an older child.I sewed it on when it was just short about two inches, so I could get a goodly amount of give sewn in and then finished the last bit while it was attached.I think there is give - more than the socks, which were sewn in with elastic thread.Fox : )
It looks really great and everyone would be proud to get something like this and wear it! The edging is really cute and matches very well.. Ingrid
