A New Trick - The Necklace

Thought I'd try my hand at this....  It is tedious and I had to figure out how to get the big beads on;   they are too bulky to put on a shuttle.

I tat a LARGE picot at the end of the split ring, and after I close it, attach the bead, ending with a ds on top.  Then the next split ring.  There has to be one more stitch on the first half of the split ring because of the added picot.

This might be pretty!  The thread is the crochet cotton, #16, whatever that is!  Kind of like a #20, but softer and only a three ply.  It has a nice shine, though.

  3. Very nice! I just purchased some square beads to experiment with. I am loading my beaded things onto tatsy shuttles because they hold them really well. I love the colors you are using =)

  6. Interesting technique. I purchased some beads from a shop but they are large and have holes through the middle rather than in the ends and I didn't think I'd be able to use them so this is very helpful, thanks.

  7. I like the square beads. It makes a pretty bracelet. I will like to try out this technique. A third thread can also be used to give this result.
